A brief history

March 2018

The three founders met for a beer to hatch a plan on how to leave corporate life and fix the painful AML process. First AML was born.

June 2018

After many meetings, they closed the first customer just in the nick of time, the legislation was rolling out the next day.

September 2018

The First AML Project exploded into a complex business with the $200k injection of seed capital.

June 2019

A moment of crisis forged the company ethos when one of the biggest clients gave an ultimatum; develop the platform or they'd leave. V1 of the First AML platform was created.

September 2020

Going from strength to strength a successful Series A capital raise of $NZ 8m gave the company the cash it needed to expand into Australia and further develop the platform.

November 2021

Building on exceptional momentum, First AML successfully closed a Series B capital raise of $NZ 30m, providing the capital needed for true global expansion.

March 2022

First AML expanded to the UK, rapidly growing from 0 to 24 employees and winning clients across all industries.

November 2022

Closing out a successful year, First AML received a series of awards; RegTech Australia, internationally founded company of the year, New Zealand Hi Tech Award and RegTech Top 100.

September 2023

After five years of handling KYC for countless clients we released Source, a self-service solution that encompasses our deep expertise with every AML tool in one platform.
